WARNING TO THE READER: If you opened this with the intention in your heart to continue in the man-made traditions you have learned from childhood, then it is probably best that you close this teaching and go do something more productive with your day. If, however, you came here to learn the truth behind Valentine's Day, to make sure that you are sanctified for the sake of the Lord Jesus Christ, then prepare yourself because Valentine's Day may be one of the more disgusting holidays I have covered in this ministry.
(Read "The Biblical Understanding of Sanctification" here at creationliberty.com for more details.)

I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil. They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world. And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth.
-John 17:15-19

Wherefore, my dearly beloved, flee from idolatry.
-1 Corinthians 10:14

The following images are incredibly offensive, and if you do not understand why, keep reading.

Valentine's Day is commonly seen as a lovey-dovey holiday with hearts, chocolates, and fancy dinners; in fact, the obsession with Valentine's Day is so great, that if a man does not do "something special" for his woman on February 14th, she is infuriated and shuns him in feminist fashion. None of these things are justified in Scripture, yet nearly every church building in America promotes the holiday with their so-called "Christian" spin on it. Have you ever wondered, even for a moment, why so many people religiously following such a tradition when they have no idea why they are doing it in the first place?
(Read "Feminism: Castrating America" here at creationliberty.com for more details on the how common feminist philosophy is in church buildings.)

Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
-Proverbs 3:5

Brethren, be not children in understanding: howbeit in malice be ye children, but in understanding be men.
-1 Corinthians 14:20

The willful ignorance surrounding Valentine's Day is so great, most people don't even know why it is called "Valentine's" Day. So let's look at the history:
"Valentine was a holy priest in Rome, who, with St. Marius and his family, assisted the martyrs in the persecution under Claudius II. He was apprehended, and sent by the Emperor to the Prefect of Rome, who, on finding all his promises to make him renounce his faith in effectual, commanded him to be beaten with clubs, and afterward to be beheaded, which was executed on the 14th February, about the year 270. Pope Julius I is said to have built a church near Ponte Mole to his [Valentine's] memory, which for a long time gave name to the gate now called Porta del Popolo, formerly Porta Valentini. The greatest part of his relics are now in the church of St. Praxedes. His name is celebrated as that of an illustrious martyr in the Sacramentary of St. Gregory, the Roman Missal of Thomasius, in the Calendar of F. Fronto, and that of Allatius, in Bede, Usuard, Ado, Notker, and all other martyrologies on this day. To abolish the heathen's lewd, superstitious custom of boys drawing the names of girls, in honour of their goddess, Februata Juno, on the 15th of this month, several zealous pastors substituted the names of saints in billets given on this day."
-James Hogg & Florence Marryat, London Society, William Clowes and Sons, Vol. 9, 1867, p. 118, [National Library of the Netherlands]

The general story is that Claudius II was the Emperor of Rome from 268-270 A.D. and fought a war with the Alemanni and Goths. To keep his soldiers focused, he forbid them to marry, but Valentine was caught marrying soldiers anyway, so Claudius had Valentine executed on February 14th.

There are problems with the explanations I have read from various sources because Valentine is often called a "holy priest" (as seen above), or a "Catholic priest," but this makes no sense to the timeline. The Catholic Church was not formed until Constantine, which was over 50 years later (325 A.D.), so either Valentine was a priest in some other cult, because there is no position of "priesthood" in the New Testament church of Christ, or Valentine may have been a Christian who was later falsely labeled a "Catholic priest," being retroactively called a "martyr" of the Catholic Church by the wicked popes, who have their hands deep in the muck of what is known today as "Valentine's Day."
(Read "Catholic History: A Pagan Foundation" here at creationliberty.com for more details.)

In Rome, there was a famous holiday tradition called "Lupercalia" (Feb 15th), a wolf festival (i.e. lupe means "wolf"), which was later known as "Februa," in which many superstitious pagan practices were performed. For example, women looking to become pregnant during the celebration were beaten with freshly carved goat skins to make them fertile, and many other such nonsensical practices. One of the traditions was the drawing of "billets," which were small pieces of wood, paper, or vellum, on which each piece would have a female participant's name written or carved on it; the male participants would approach and draw a billet, like drawing a name out of a hat, and for rest of the festivities, the name of selected woman would be his sexual partner in fornication/adultery.
(See Mary Beth Moser & Mary Saracino, She Is Everwhere!: An Anthology of Writings in Womanist/Feminist Spirituality, iUniverse, Vol. 3, 2012, p. 305, ISBN: 9781462064342)

Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.
-Hebrews 13:4

Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
-Galatians 5:19-21

This tradition was in honor of the Roman goddess Juno (i.e. Februata Juno or Juno Februtis), who was said to be one of the three original gods in Roman mythology. Witches use colors for specific purposes in their magics, and red is typically associated with passion, coming from things like fire, sex, or blood; however, for the specific celebration of Juno, from which Valentine's Day is derived, the color of red is a representation of a woman's menstrual period:
"Juno... this goddess was one of the trinity that ruled Rome, along with Minerva and Jupiter. A Moon goddess, Juno symbolized the regular cycles of time. A demonstration of her time keeping is your monthy menstrual periods."
-M.J. Abadie, The Goddess in Every Girl: Develop Your Feminine Power, Simon and Schuster, 2013, p. 102, ISBN: 9781582704319; Abadie practices the witchcraft of astrology, tarot, and mystical psychotherapy, and has written many books for young people on these subjects.

Juno is a moon goddess, and as the cycle of the moon completes once per month, the pagan association with moon worship also includes worship of a female period, which is said to be ruled over and established by Juno. As we have seen in other teachings I have done on the pagan witchcraft traditions, like those of Easter and Christmas, Juno is part of the "Triple Moon Goddess," a pillar of witchcraft:
"Juno, known to the ancient Greeks as the goddess Hera of the moon phases and woman's cycles, married Jupiter, King of the Heavens and initiated women into the rites of marriage... The high frequency of remarriage, nevertheless, tells us that most people continue to desire intimacy within committed relationships. Juno is telling us not to end our relationships, but to reframe them. This redefining of the relationships is evidence by the growing number of persons living together without the sanctification of legal marriage, as well as the coming out of lesbian and gay couples [i.e. Juno represents the LGBT movement]... As Triple Moon Goddess, Juno ruled over the entire female reproductive cycle and used the menstrual cycle to measure the orderly passage of time."
-Demetra George & Douglas Bloch, Astrology for Yourself: How to Understand And Interpret Your Own Birth Chart, Nicolas-Hays Inc, 2015, ISBN: 9780892546657; George is a professor of astrology history at Kepler College.

Fornication, adultery, sodomy/homosexuality, and other such lewd sexual practices are honored in celebration of the pagan belief that Juno/Hera has sexual union with the horned goat god Faunus/Pan. (Click Image For Larger View) For many years growing up in tradition church buildings, I had always heard that the color red was used for Valentine's Day because it represented the blood of the martyrs of Jesus, but that was a lie that was instituted by antichrist Pope Julius I and the corrupt Catholic Church in their efforts to yoke a "Christianized" day (Feb 14th) to the pagan celebration of Lupercalia.
(Read "Corruptions of Christianity: Catholicism" here at creationliberty.com for more details.)

Ultimately, Valentine's Day was born of paganism and witchcraft.

To those of you who have read our other articles exposing witchcraft traditions, the origin of the symbolism and traditions of holidays is often related to sexual lewdness because that is a common theme in witchcraft, and Valentine's Day is no exception. The most famous symbol of Valentine's Day, the heart (♥), is commonly used as a symbol of so-called "love," and during the month of February, it is seen everywhere in stores, schools, church buildings, etc. What most people are blissfully unaware of is that the symbol is the shape of the feminine figure from the rear bent over at the waist in preparation for sexual intercourse.

In most books and websites, the origin of the heart symbol is said to be unknown, and surprisingly, I found little information on it in books on witchcraft and Wicca. Most websites and books claim it is the shape of the seed pods of a supposedly-extinct plant called a "silphium," which was based on a superstition that if a woman ate it before sex, it would prevent conception.

As a side note, the word 'silphium' comes from the root word 'sylph' in relation to the forest, which is based on the root word 'nymph'. The word 'nymph' can mean "goddess," "bride," "mistress," or "young woman," and the Greeks often used it to refer to a "beautiful young maiden" in the sense of a virgin. I thought it important to note, as we can see how these pagan sexual symbols correlate together.
(See 'nymph', Online Etymology Dictionary, retrieved July 11, 2018, [etymonline.com/word/nymph])

The silphium plant being the sole origin of the heart shape was a lackluster explanation, or in other words, I found it very unconvincing, especially since, as you can see in the image above, the silphium pods only vaguely resemble the heart shape, if at all. (i.e. I do not think they look much like the traditional heart shape.) The shape of a woman's hips and rearend bent over perfectly form a heart shape, which makes a lot more sense to the concept of a the pagan fertility sexual celebration of Juno Februata, and furthermore, it seems more likely, based on all the research I've done on paganism and witchcraft in the past, knowing their worldview and how they traditional operate, that the silphium seed pod contraceptive superstition was founded on the premise of the feminine rearend heart shape, or in summary, the heart was a female sexual symbol first, then the seed pod superstition was based on that.

The following image is a tatoo on a woman's back which shows the "triquetra" or "trinity knot" interlocked with a heart symbol. In our article called "Christian Symbols Are Not Christian," we expose the meaning of the triquetra as the interlocking vesica piscis that symbolize the vaginal opening to the womb, or in other words, it is three interlocking vaginas, which represents the triple goddess of witches, and in the image below, this triple goddess symbol is locked inside the vaginal sexual symbol of the heart shape; so whereas most viewers might see it as a "cool-looking tat," in reality, it is a lewd symbol for fornication and witchcraft.

It is also common around Valentine's Day to see a child-like figure with wings, known as "Cupid," shooting "arrows of love." Sadly, this too has a perverted witchcraft foundation to it because Cupid is the Roman version of the Greek god "Eros," which is a god of sexual lust:
"Eros/Cupid: The Greek version of this god deals with erotic love of any kind, while the Roman version rules the gentler passions of love. As god of desire and physical attraction, this god is a dangerous force that can cause humans to perform acts of self-sacrifice."

The rabbit symbol, which is also used as a symbol of sexual lust (e.g. Playboy Bunny), is connected to Eros and Cupid in pagansim. I cover more details about that in "Easter: Christians Celebrating Abomination" here at creationliberty.com.

"It [the hare/rabbit] was the messenger animal associated with Hermes/Mercury, and is attributed of Aphrodite and Eros. Cupid figures are often portrayed with hares. [i.e. in tradition witchcraft]"
-Raven Grimassi, Encyclopedia of Wicca & Witchcraft, Llewellyn Worldwide, 2000, p. 203, ISBN: 9781567182576; Grimassi is an award-winning pagan author of eighteen books on witchcraft and wicca, and he has formed and led multilple witch covens.

Eros is where we get the word "erotic," which means to arose sexual desire:
"1650s, from French érotique (16c.), from Greek erotikos 'caused by passionate love, referring to love,' from eros (genitive erotos) 'sexual love'"
(See 'erotic', Online Etymology Dictionary, retrieved July 11, 2018, [etymonline.com/word/erotic])

Cupid is not only a symbol of sexual lust, but so are the arrows he shoots. The following pagan author from the popular witchcraft community Witches & Pagans points out the phallic (i.e. male organ) symbolism of the arrow in his explanation of the pagan "garland & arrow" symbol; the garland being the vaginal female symbol, which has the same sexual symbolism as Christmas wreaths that I discuss more in my boo, "Christmas: Rejecting Jesus," which is free-to-read here at creationliberty.com.
"The garland as a symbol of the female, and in particular of female sexuality, will come as no novelty to anyone likely to be reading this. Likewise, the arrow as a male—and specifically phallic [penis]—symbol will surprise no one. Arrows, of course, fly, flight being proverbial symbolic shorthand for sexual intercourse."
-Steven Posch, "Of Arrows and Garlands," Witches & Pagans, Sept 20, 2014, retrieved July 11, 2018, [witchesandpagans.com/pagan-culture-blogs/paganistan/of-arrows-and-garlands.html]

"Some of the symbols of the God are phalluses [penis symbolism] and phallic objects, such as spears, swords, arrows, and wands."
-Thea Sabin, Wicca for Beginners: Fundamentals of Philosophy & Practice, Llewellyn Worldwide, 2010, p. 120, ISBN: 9780738717753; Sabin has been a witch and astrologer for most of her life, and her work has appeared in many publications around the world.

With that understanding, the rest of the meaning should be easy to put together. The arrow (penis) is thrust into the heart (vagina), and I apologize for having to be so graphic in the explanation, but it's important that Christians stop walking around in willful ignorance. Valentine's Day is purely sexual paganism and witchcraft, and Christians are going to have a hard time not seeing this every February after reading this article, so I hope those of us born again in Christ will sanctify ourselves from the unfruitful works of darkness.
(Read "The Biblical Understanding of Sanctification" here at creationliberty.com for more details.)

For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light: (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;) Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord. And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret. But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light. Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.
-Ephesians 5:8-14

The anti-Christian Charisma Magazine published an article called "6 Ways to Show Christ Some Love on Valentine's Day," and the title alone should show us how little they love the Lord Jesus Christ. The fact that churchgoers are not doing such things daily, living the life of one who is born again into the light of Christ, and that they have to have a specific day to do such things, is indicative of their pagan mentality.
(See Donald Cyprian, "6 Ways to Show Christ Some Love on Valentine's Day," Charisma Magazine, Feb 12, 2016, retrieved July 13, 2018, [https://bit.ly/2JhGFFf])

For the world, it's a switch they turn on or off, or it's a matter of coming to a religious meeting only during certain times of the year, like how people will go to church on Christmas or Easter. Again, it's a pagan mindset; they are not showing us evidence of being converted by Christ because they are not actively "walking as children of light." This is not to say that there are not some Christians in simple ignorance, to which they've never received the truth; certainly we all have to be educated about things over time, but what really shows the evidence of Christ is when a man sanctifies himself once he understands the truth, and I hope some readers will do so once they understand the pagan foundation of the Valentine's Day celebration.

There will be some upset readers, as always happens when I expose the witchcraft traditions of men, because they love their traditions more than they love God, but I would ask: Do you honestly believe these things are pleasing to the Lord Jesus Christ? If you answered yes, you are either completely ignorant of Scripture and need to be rebuked, or you do not worship the Christian God of the Bible, and His love is not in you. (i.e. You have a false god, and that's called idolatry.)
(Read "The Biblical Understanding of Idolatry" & "False Converts vs Eternal Security" here at creationliberty.com for more details.)

Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.
-1 John 2:15-17

I already know the excuses churchgoers make on this issue; they always say, "Well, the heart for us represents the love of God." I look forward to them giving me this excuse becaues that helps me confirm that they are not only violating the Word of God, but they are also justifying their sin; they don't care about Christ when they make these excuses because the Bible clearly tells us that we ought NOT to think that God (who is love -1Jo 4:8) is like unto symbols made by the imaginations of men.
(Read "Christian Symbols Are Not Christians" here at creationliberty.com for more details.)

Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and man's device.
-Acts 17:29

So you can quote these things to those churchgoers with their excuses, and ask them to choose who they will serve; God or tradition? If they come back with another lukewarm response that they will do both, then you can tell them that Christ will spit them out of His mouth.

I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.
-Revelation 3:15-16

As indicated at the beginning, leavened church buildings and churchgoers everywhere promote this wicked fornication and witchcraft holiday without any conscience or remorse. I understand that some people are in ignorance on the matter, and we ought to be patient with them that they would come to understand the truth, but most of them simply make excuses, rather than acknowledge the truth because there is no repentance (i.e. grief and godly sorrow of wrongdoing) in their hearts.
(Read "Is Repentance Part of Salvation?" & "Unbiblical Cop-Outs: Don't Judge Me!" here at creationliberty.com for more details.)

And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.
-Luke 16:15

In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;
-2 Timothy 2:25

Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.
-John 7:24

For example, the anti-Christian magazine Christianity Today admits that Valentine's Day was born out of pagan rituals, but like most pastors and churchgoers, they make an excuse for it:
"But apparently Christians didn't think the practice was all bad. They (Pope Gelasius, according to my source) liked the box idea, and so initiated a custom of drawing saints names out of a box."
-Ted Olsen, "Then Again Maybe Don't Be My Valentine," Christianity Today, Feb 1, 2000, retrieved July 12, 2018, [christianitytoday.com/ct/2000/februaryweb-only/11.0a.html]

There are two major problems with this; the first being that the authors at Christianity Today care more about what churchgoers think than what God thinks. Second, Christianity Today is part of the Devil's ecumenical movement, and so they presume that Catholics are Christians, when the Catholic Church is leading more people to hell than probably any other entity that exists in the world today, but the author I just quoted thinks everyone should follow the tradtions of an antichrist pope.
(Read "Corruptions of Christianity: Catholicism" here at creationliberty.com for more details.)

The United Church of God confesses the pagan roots of Valentine's Day, and even encourages readers not to participate in such things because they are "detestable" in the eyes of God. However, the anonymous (i.e. coward) author teaches people to follow after the Old Testament rituals and holidays, which we were never taught to do in the New Testament dispensation, and that is simply replacing one form of corruption with another.
(See Anonymous Author, "Where Did Valentine's Day Come From?" United Church of God, retrieved July 12, 2018, [https://bit.ly/2NLrhUR]; Read "Should Christians Celebrate Jewish Passover?" here at creationliberty.com for more details.)

I thought to give some more examples and quotations, but as I searched through the leavened, lukewarm, and sickening preaching out there from leavened pastors on Valentine's Day, I couldn't stomach much more of it; however, there is one universal doctrine that's taught during week surrounding Valentine's Day, and that's love. What's so perverted and sickening about this is that they are taking the holy love of the Lord God and connecting it to the perverted sins of witchcraft celebrations.

Not only is there an offense by dragging Christ's holy name through the mud, but also that most of them don't have an understanding of the word "love." Most of the time, the pastors and churchgoers connect the word "love" to emotion, rather than action, which is not to be misunderstood to think that we do not have deep intimate passions for family or friends, but thinking that the passions surrounding Valentine's Day are the same as that which Christians have towards God is perverted.

The Lord Jesus Christ said:

If ye love me, keep my commandments.
-John 14:15

In Acts, the apostles taught what we were to abstain from to keep the commandments of God:

But that we write unto them, that they abstain from pollutions of idols, and from fornication, and from things strangled, and from blood.
-Acts 15:20

If these churchgoers and pastors loved the Lord God, then they would abstain from the pollutions of idolatry, which is what Valentine's Day is all about. In fact, the pagan celebration surrounding what is known today as Valentine's Day involved sacrifices and fornication, so it's all the offenses wrapped up into one big package.

Love is a selfless sacrifice to do what is right according to the will of God and Christ our Savior. Doing what feels good in willful ignorance according to the traditions of men does not love God, nor does it love anyone else; rather, true love is to walk after Christ's commandments, even when others may hate us for doing so because we love them enough to tell them the truth.
(Read "The Biblical Understanding of Love" here at creationliberty.com for more details.)

Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.
-Romans 13:10

For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.
-1 John 5:3

And this is love, that we walk after his commandments. This is the commandment, That, as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk in it.
-2 John 1:6

Thus, the worldly definition of "love," which is based on passions and lust, is being merged by churchgoers and pastors into the Biblical love of Christ, which is a perversion of that sacred love. Instead of attempting to gain understanding, they cling to their wicked traditions because, in reality, they love pleasure and themselves more than they love God, rejecting His authority over them.
(Read "False Doctrine: Learn to Love Yourself" here at creationliberty.com for more details.)

This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power [i.e. authority] thereof: from such turn away.
-2 Timothy 3:1-5

The problem is that the traditions of men are more important to churchgoers than the Lord Jesus Christ, which is why they cling to holidays like Valentine's Day, and so they look for doctrine from pastors that will scratch their itching ears. They teach for doctrine the commandments of men, based on their beloved traditions that they are unwilling to give up for the Lord Jesus Christ, and turn to worship Christ in vain through prayer and song.

He answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me. Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do.
-Mark 7:6-8

Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye make clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full of extortion and excess. Thou blind Pharisee, cleanse first that which is within the cup and platter, that the outside of them may be clean also.
-Matthew 23:25-26

For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
-2 Timothy 4:3-4

If you have loved someone, a husband or wife, or betrothed, and you want to show them you care about them, then you can do that any time you want, 365 days a year. You don't need a special celebration, and even when the appointed time (Feb 14th) comes, the gifts are then given out of obligation (i.e. fear), not out of love; meaning that a man thinks, "If I don't do something for her on this day, she'll be mad at me," which makes the Valentine's Day present a fearful and superficial (i.e. fake) gift.

Women often demand to have something special done for her on Valentine's Day out of jealousy, meaning that she will see other women have something special sent to them or done for them, and out of a heart of covetousness, they want the same. It is sin that drives that desire (and anger if she doesn't get her way), rather than a woman, in humility, professing godliness, being content with the things she has.

Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
-Hebrews 13:5

But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. And having food and raiment let us be therewith content. But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.
-1 Timothy 6:6-9

The love my wife and I have for each other is demonstrated by what we do for one another all the time, every day, and not only do we not have a need for a Valentine's Day, now that we understand how it was born, we want nothing to do with it. Likewise, the love the church has for Christ ought to be demonstrated daily, not just on a special occasion. In fact, the Valentine's Day decorations now make us sick to our stomachs knowing what it all means, and not only do I praise the Lord Jesus Christ for his merciful gift of understanding of these matters so we can sanctify ourselves, but I also I pray that each of you will sanctify yourselves, not in part, but wholly.

And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
-1 Thessalonians 5:23

Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish... Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband.
-Ephesians 5:25-33
