Hello from Utah
« on: March 19, 2019, 02:34:23 PM »
Hi everyone! My name is Celeste. I live in southern Utah land of mormons!! I was born and raised in Michigan. I am 40+ years of age  ::. I fell to my knees 2 years ago crying for Jesus. I came out of the new age occult and have very disturbing stories. I was an alcoholic my whole adult life until that very day I fell down to Jesus. I was healed! Can't even imagine taking another sip actually it disgusts me to think about. I have diligently sought our Lord daily! He has been faithful. I am now here to learn more after hearing CLE on youtube. What I heard was a born again brother in Christ and here I am to fellowship grow and learn.
Many many many churches are in apostasy and that is a story I may share at some point...my experiences of at least 7 in my area. Well, may God bless you and I hope to gain some great wisdom and friendships. :)

I'm glad you joined us here; I'm sure you have a lot of to talk about since you live in a heavily compact Mormon area.

Wow!! Praise God! What a wonderful group. Thank you for saying hello and taking time to comment. I am learning how to maneuver on here so this may take a bit for me to learn.

But you've already mastered the art of emojis. Isn't that all a Christian needs?  :P

Hi Celeste

Welcome from me too.  That was so good to read about how alcohol was cut out of your life and has remained out.  I hope you stay here and become an established member of the forum  :)

Hi Celeste,

Praise God for what He has done and is doing in your life!

I just want to make you aware of a technical problem we have here on the forum before it becomes an issue for you has it has for all of us at one time or another.

The forum software/code/whatever doesn't like foreign apostrophes for some reason, meaning that if it comes to a character it doesn't recognise, it will cut your post off at the point where the unrecognised character occurs.

If you copy/paste from another source, make sure you go back and replace all the apostrophes in the post box before hitting the post button. This has to be done from a computer, as it doesn't like apostrophes from mobile devices, either. If you're using a mobile device, you'll just have to type without using that kind of punctuation. (You might want to check all your posts after you submit them, too, to make sure everything is there. You have 30 minutes from the time your post goes up in which to edit it if need be.)

Anyway, welcome to the forum, and I look forward to getting to know you!

Jeanne

Welcome Celeste!  I am sure you have much to share!

Hi, Celeste,
I like your posts here.
I am Joop, from The Netherlands. I came out of pentecostalism some years ago.
I know you're having problems with critisizing one another. I hope you will reconsider staying here. Sometimes criticizing is really necessary. I was rightfully criticizing the pentecostal doctrine (about speaking in tongues) in my former 'church'. It was not appreciated, so I had to leave.
If we never rebuke (or receive rebuke), we cannot grow. That's not just an opinion.

Hi Celeste,

I liked what you wrote about yourself, it's a lot better than mine. Can I copy and paste it? just kidding.

Stay in the Word! the KJV that is.

Unfortunately, Celeste left after we rebuked another member of the forum here for doing something he has been warned about before. She took offence that we would try to correct someone. Go figure...

Hi Celeste,

Your testimony brought me back to the time I said enough is enough with alcohol.  About four to five years ago I took on the task of raising two girls that were not my own.  To make a very long story short, my oldest step daughter came up to me one day and told me, "I'm never going to smoke and drink like my daddy did."  At the time I was already being convicted of drinking through watching Kent Hovind talking about alcohol.  Like Christopher, I watched and/or listened to Kent on a daily basis and still couldn't get enough. It wasn't hard for me to finally say to myself that I will not touch alcohol again for my sake and to show my step daughter what I'm willing to do to be the best influence and the best dad two girls could ask for.  I have certainly come along way with my two step daughters that would take quite the book to type up if I were to continue to talk about them.  Thanks for helping me remember and I'm glad your here with us.

Caleb, if you're going to reply to posts, you need to read through the whole thread first. You just replied to someone who left the forum in a huff about a month ago.
