Hello everyone,

My name is Natalie and I live in a small town in Indiana and enjoy studying my Bible and getting to know Jesus better. The last few years I have been really studying and seeking truth, and my eyes have been opened to many things. One day, I started to read my NIV bible alongside a King James Bible just to see if I could learn anything by comparing the two. I didn't know at that time about the NIV or modern bibles being changed. I was very shocked to see how different the meanings were, so I began investigating and found out about the modern bible versions. I only read the King James Bible now, and because of that my eyes have been open to many deceptions. I hope to find people that will hold my same beliefs and help me to see truth.

Hi, Natalie, the name's Caleb, I am the guy on the forum on information about God's creations like plants and animals, I hope that you have found what you are looking for.
And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. Genesis 1:26 Who can say that man is an animal?

Hi Natalie!

How wonderful that your eyes were opened!  I know people who do that and still have not learned the truth.
But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance. Matthew 9:13

Nice to meet everyone!

Billy, I am a Christian. My beliefs are based on what I'm learning from the Bible.

Well, I think what Billy is asking for are specifics; meaning that there are a lot of false converts and false teachers out there who say "I am a Christian and I believe the Bible." He probably should have asked a more specific question though.
The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.
-Psa 34:18

I hope I'm not a false convert. I read the article on repentance very recently and had a grieving type experience over my sins that leads me to believe it was genuine. This is all new to me, so I am cautious. I'm very serious about finding true doctrine, however.

It's nice to have you here, Natalie. I hope you can find what you're looking for here and that we can help you to learn how to tell false doctrine from what the Bible teaches.

Just out of curiosity, how did you find us? Was it when you were looking for info on the different Bible versions?

Hi Jeanne, thanks. I actually was googling the origins of Christmas of all things. The article I read on CLE seemed well presented so I read more articles!

Sometimes it's easy to sense when something is fishy or not. For example, I've felt for awhile that the offering plate that's passed around at church was odd... it's almost like a guilt trip.

It is nice to meet you, Natalie. Welcome! I see you are from Indiana as well. :) I agree with you; we really have to be careful not to be decieved by all the false doctrine out there. My researching and truth seeking tendencies helped me find this community, but ultimately it was God who led me here.

Hello Natalie. I myself am new here and yes the journey for Jesus is a good experience. Of course I get inspiration from reading the bible but view's of others and sharing view's are good and it seems that Chris knows a bit more and all that does come from study. Sure we all want to be on the right tract as it is about salvation and yes truth and grace is a fulfillment of the law.
