If I was president my first ruling will be the execution of any who willing took the life of the unborn, and all buildings like plan parent hood will be made a huge heap of stones as a reminder of how evil the hearts of the land is.
I'm not so sure about being so fast to execute people. While people are still alive there is still hope for them. Although in the Old Testament God instructed that people who did certain things were to be put to death, that is not the case in the New Covenant. There is a difference between those who claim to be in God's church and those who are still in the world. With the presedential power to end offenders lives
{thoughts of being drunk on power here} you could instead use that great power to educate the population and undermine and curtail the false teachings of the media and "academics" and the false churches. Win win all around, offenders are turned to Christ and saved and Christ's death for the redemption of those offenders was not in vain.
Naturally we immediately think of Paul who was not a part of God's newly forming church and was going about taking a part in the execution of Christians. God could have easily put Paul to death for doing that, but God also knew that Paul was doing it out of ignorance. Instead of death, God gave Paul an experience that "enlightened" him and also made it known how much he was going to suffer for Christ.
Ananias and his wife Sapphira claimed to be in the church and got caught out lying and were both struck down and put to death. Their lying was also at the level at which those in the "churches" would overlook today as a minor misdemeanour because they were giving money. Not everyone gets struck down dead today but those two are used to get the point across and they quite likely got struck down because their demise was going to be written up in the scriptures for all to read about, but all of those who have lied in the last two thousand years aren't noted in the Bible. God's lesson to everyone ..... you watching? ...... watch this ...... this is what I think of lying.
I can't speak for others but I sure know I have made errors in the time I have been a Christian. By the grace of God I haven't been struck down as Ananias and his wife Sapphira were but I do know that just as we have to account for every idle word so am I also going to have to account for everything else I have done. How much does God overlook? Does He overlook actions of young and immature Christians? Will He overlook Ananias and his wife Sapphira's wrong doing but chose to make an example of them?
Anyway, I wouldn't be so quick to stand before God with the blood of ignorant unbelievers on my hands.
All of this is my own thoughts on the matter and I happily stand to be shredded and corrected on anything I have written.
