NOW I understand!

Why do so many church goers say that repentance is a work?
Because penitence (ie: repentance) in Roman Catholicism is part of their religious activity, a part of their works.
These churchianity people are thinking like a Catholic instead of thinking biblically.
Now I get it.  :D

All roads (and false doctrine) lead to Rome.
Nehemiah 8:8 KJV — So they read in the book in the law of God distinctly, and gave the sense, and caused them to understand the reading.

I don't remember if I have taught on that anywhere, but the root word where we get the word 'repent' is the same root where we get the word 'penal', both meaning to make one sorry for wrongdoing. 'Penal' is also connected to the word 'penance', and none of the above are works.
The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.

I got this from the 17:40 point in this teaching.
Nehemiah 8:8 KJV — So they read in the book in the law of God distinctly, and gave the sense, and caused them to understand the reading.

I misspoke; I meant that I don't know if I have taught on that anywhere else, meaning that I may or may not have mentioned it in another teaching, and if I have not, I should probably make sure to write it down and reference it somewhere.
