Evangelism / Re: YouTube Channel: Daily Exhortation - Hebrews 3:13
« on: November 07, 2020, 07:15:58 PM »
Would you be doing it live on YouTube so I can join in?
As of the moment, we are not streaming it live on YouTube.  I was considering bringing that idea up to the group, to see if they would like to do that, but I'm hesitant about the idea, because the videos will no longer be edited.

Editing them has been useful, I would guess 3-5minutes of pauses and silence is edited out of each video, additional notes, and scriptures can be put on the screen, and when I make facilitating mistakes, those can be edited out.

It would save a lot of time not having to edit them, and that time could be put toward more preparation (which means it wouldn't have as much need to be edited), but another thing to consider, is that streaming it live could change the atmosphere of our group - knowing that people are watching us, could make us more hesitant to say something, or share something personal, knowing if it comes out wrong, it can't be edited out before people hear it.

In short, I'm not sure if it's a good idea yet; maybe the rest of the group will have some ideas.  I'll try to bring it up next meetup, so we'll wait and see.

Here is a recorded video of our discussion about Brian Moonan's "Truthdealer Radio, Episode 31: Should Christians Vote?":
https://youtu.be/2PZrUVXF7I4

We may be going over this more in the coming days, so if we said something wrong, or you want us to add something to the coming videos, post here and let us know so we can consider it (we may even read your comment during the recording).

Evangelism / YouTube Channel: Daily Exhortation - Hebrews 3:13
« on: November 02, 2020, 10:17:47 PM »
Some of us who are a part of CLE decided we should record some of our informal meetups and put them on YouTube so more people could benefit.  Although only those who are apart of CLE can join live, it's a separate channel from the website and Chris, so if you need to contact us or we say something wrong, don't write Chris, or use the contact page at creationliberty.com; instead, if you would like to contact us, go to "about" on our YouTube Channel (Daily Exhortation - Hebrews 3:13), and under "For business inquiries" you can email us, or you may be able to email an individual person through their forum account, if they have that enabled; here's a list of every forum member:
http://www.creationliberty.com/forum/index.php?action=mlist

Here is a link to the YouTube Channel:
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCB4mbo_jJ8X4xnpGS0qYfyg

It's called "Daily Exhortation - Hebrews 3:13" because of the Bible verse:
"But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin."

As of the moment, our typical meetup consists of going over one of the older teachings on CLE for about an hour, and commenting as we go along.  I hope the channel can be helpful for those who aren't able to fellowship much, so they'll have the option to listen to other Christians talk for an hour.

Evangelism / Re: Farmers Market Preaching on the 4th of July

At about 8:55, that guy said that Paul taught the law was the ministry of death. Where did he get that? He said to read "Corinthians" for it...

I think he might be referring to this one:
2 Corinthians 3:7
But if the ministration of death, written and engraven in stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not stedfastly behold the face of Moses for the glory of his countenance; which glory was to be done away:

Just something small that caught my attention, was the wording of Christopher White's question:
"There's a video going around by Creation Liberty Evangelism, that the word 'repent' (metanoia) means "godly grief and sorrow". I rebuked him, but is there any merit to this teaching?"
I found the ending to that question strange, because it wouldn't make sense for a person to rebuke someone if they didn't know whether or not what they were saying had any merit?

If this helps Chris, I noticed YouTube has some type of shadowban on me where my comments will not show up if I have a single link in them (they show up when I'm logged in, but not when I log out), however, if I remove all the links, the comment shows up even while logged out.  I'm not sure if that will be the case for you Chris, but if you're interested, you could go to a past comment you made on a different channel containing links, and another comment without any links, then log out of your YouTube account and see if your comment appears to the public; if past comments with links show up on different channels, then you know it's specific to his channel (meaning he held back your comment).  (You can find past YouTube comments by going to your YouTube history, and then clicking "comments" on the right of your screen.)

General Discussion / Re: Apricot Seeds

(Ann, I'm Dee's son.)
I wasn't sure how others here might see the [keto] diet since it's not really how God tells us to eat...
When I first heard of the ketogenic diet I told myself:
Q: How can a ketogenic diet be healthy when we have verses like Genesis 1:29?
And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.
-Genesis 1:29

A: I have asked myself this question many times.  Why would God make grains, and put a bunch of sugar into fruit if it's healthier to abstain from them?  But if you think about it, there's a thing called "fasting" where you abstain from every food God made, and it's very healthy to do that; so thinking about the keto diet as abstaining from certain foods, to cause your body to go into a state similar to fasting (ketosis), makes it sound a little more reasonable.  It's not that an apple is bad for your health, it's just that there are some benefits to getting into ketosis.

To elaborate more, on a ketogenic diet you basically starve your body of sugar, and have only a small amount of carbs (20-50 grams of carbs a day depending on your metabolism), this forces your body to burn an alternative fuel source: fat (the fat you eat or if you're over weight then your own bodies fat).  When you are burning fat/ketones for fuel, you are in a state of ketosis; you are also in a state of Ketosis when you do prolonged fasting (I believe it's more then 2 days, that your body has depleted all of it's glucose).  So on a ketogenic diet, you get some of the same health benefits as prolonged fasting (being in ketosis), without actually fasting (not that you shouldn't also fast, but a keto diet allows you to be in ketosis, even on the days you do eat.)  So if you believe fasting is healthy, you'll probably like the keto diet, since they both go off the idea that burning fat for fuel (ketosis) is healthy.

That's great that you like your green veggies.  You've probably heard many people recommend 7-10 cups (or 7-10oz) of leafy greens each day, and that's perfectly fine for keto.  When you subtract the fiber, it's only about 3.5-5 grams of net carbs, and since we're allowed 20-50 grams a day, we still have plenty of room for other veggies and low carb fruits like avocado, and tomato.

I am confident in my stance, but I know I could still be wrong on this.  I also know of a couple of forum members that will disagree with some of the advice I have given you (and they are welcome to comment why), but I encourage you to not just take our word for it, but to research it yourself so you can know why and what you are doing (if you haven't already).

Also, any ideas of how to combat diabetes?
Raw for 30 Days Documentary (Concerning Diabetes)
In this documentary (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2pjkC71exKU) a holistic doctor named Dr. Gabriel Cousins uses diet to treat people with diabetes and they see great success.  Although Cousins has false spiritual views, this Documentary focuses on the diet part, so I still recommend watching it when you have the time.  This is how he treats them:

@15:13 "In this month, you'll see an incredible transformation of the people moving from eating junk food, pesticided-herbicided food, high animal fat, low fiber, high sugar, and moving towards Raw, Organic - and put them on a no sugar diet"
I don't think they every use the phrase "ketogneic diet", but a "no sugar diet" is a ketogenic diet if it's also low carb, which I believe it is because in his book "There is a Cure for Diabetes" (mentioned under his name at the @15:22 time stamp), he talks about how he uses the "ketogenic diet". Which means this documentary is more proof of the ketogenic diet being healthy.

@16:40 "One of the things you're going to learn about live food [raw, uncooked food] is: that's the diet that works the best.  What's the reason? When you cook the food you lose 50% of the protein, 70-80 percent of the vitamins and minerals, and close to 100% of the phytonutrients"

@17:35 "NO meat, NO diary, NO bread, NO cooked grains, NO sugar, NO caffeine, nothing cooked over 118 degrees, Gourmet, all you can eat raw vegan meals 3 times a day"

Now he has them go on a vegan diet, but I personally believe grass fed, pasture raised (because free-range means nothing) animal products are healthy; however, you are going to have to decide what you think the best treatment is for you; because you're the one that's struggling with diabetes.

I have  Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS)
I've know about Dr. Berg's views on acupressure, but just like the holistic Dr. Cousins and his spiritual views, I'll still recommend some videos by him.  Here's a link to some of Berg's videos on PCOS, and there's a playlist with 30 videos on it. https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=dr+berg+pcos

P.S. If I'm in error by recommending videos by either of these doctors, please let me know.  As of the moment I don't see anything wrong with it, because I'm not recommending their false beliefs, but rather condemning them.  On the other hand, I don't know if it will cause someone to stumble by sending them to these doctors.

General Discussion / What is a Pharmaceutical?
« on: March 16, 2018, 05:05:28 AM »
What I'm struggling with:
For about 2 1/2 months I've researched M.E. and I'm certain that's why I'm ill.  There is an overwhelming amount of evidence; from the tests I've done on myself, the symptoms I have (some of which are only found in M.E.), and I fit the characteristics of M.E. spot on.  However, I am self-diagnosed.  And although I am 100% sure I have M.E., my father wants me to get official tests "just to be sure".

If he wants me to do normal tests, then I will.
1 Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right.
2 Honour thy father and mother; (which is the first commandment with promise;)
3 That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth.
-Ephesians 6

I've been visiting doctors recently, and they want to run tests.  But some of these tests may require you to take pharmaceuticals.  I have talked with my dad about avoiding all those tests and doctors, but I haven't convince him; he thinks pharmaceutics are ok, and he still would like me to get official tests done, "just to be sure".  But I will not do tests that require me to take pharmaceuticals, because it is not "in the Lord" to obey my dad when it goes against God's Word.

What I'm confused on:
I said the tests "may" require pharmaceutical because I'm not exactly sure what a pharmaceutical is.  I want to figure out the definition so I can avoid the pharmaceuticals, and stay in accordance with God's Word.  It's hard to avoid pharmaceuticals if I don't know what they are! :)

I don't know much about it, but I know that pharmakeia is the Greek word for witchcraft and sorcery, and pharmacy, pharmaceutical, etc. are referring to the same thing, which means taking pharmaceuticals are sorcery/sin.

Noah Webster's 1828 American Dictionary of the English Language
PHARMACEU'TICAL, adjective [Gr. to practice witchcraft or use medicine; poison or medicine.] Pertaining to the knowledge or art of pharmacy, or to the art of preparing medicines.
https://http://webstersdictionary1828.com/Dictionary/Pharmaceutic

But again, I don't even know what exactly a pharmaceutical is.  People make all sorts of claims on the internet, and I have not been able to find a true and definite answer on a definition.  For example, are these pharmaceuticals?
-Laetrile
-Synthetic vitamins
-Nicotine
-Radiation
-Anesthesia
-Tylenol
-Penicillin

It seems people are divided on all of these.  But if I had a proper definition, then I could more easily discern those.  I have been thinking that perhaps any medicine that's synthetic or altered is a pharmaceutical, and any medicine that's natural and unaltered is not a pharmaceutical (But I could totally be wrong on this; which is why I'm asking for clarification).

I'm I right?: (This is a little unrelated, but it comes up a lot)
I don't think it is ever acceptable to take pharmaceuticals/sorcery/sin, even in life or death situations. But some people argue against me, and here's how the conversation seems to go:

Them: "If the person's life depends on the pharmaceuticals are they suppose to refuse treatment and die?  (Like for car accidents, blood pressure, and organ transplants.)"

Me: "Is it better to die or commit sorcery?  Is it better to die or to sin?  What if you were told to worship an idol or die, would you bow down?  When Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were threatened with death, they did not choose to sin.  And they were content whether they lived or died.
17 If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king.
18 But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.
-Daniel 3
"

Side note: I don't think this verse applies,
3 And he saith unto them, Is it lawful to do good on the sabbath days, or to do evil? to save life, or to kill? But they held their peace.
Mark 4

Because Pharmaceuticals are dealing with sin.  And they are either sin or they are not, there are no exceptions, just like all other sins; for example, you can't lie to save your own life (or other's lives), so you can't take pharmaceuticals/sorcery either to save yours.  Perhaps I'm missing something?

Final thought: The Lord Jesus Christ has the keys to death (Rev 1:18), and if you choose to do what's right by God instead of sinning against Him, perhaps God will perform a miracle and keep you alive (like in Daniel 3), but if He doesn't, you should be content (again, like in Daniel 3).  Also, If you've been born-again (repented and believed on Jesus Christ), then it will be gain to die (whenever that may be).
21 For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.
Philippians 1

Introduce Yourself / Re: Greeting from WA
« on: March 10, 2018, 06:13:11 PM »
Tell me about your health josh are you doing OK now , did you recover from your sickness?
I apologize for taking so long to respond.  I'm just never sure how I should answer that.

No, I have not recovered, and I'm not doing any better health wise.  I have been trying lots of different things to improve.  But if I remember, the only thing that has helped me feel a little better is the OMAD diet (one meal a day diet).  Digesting food takes a lot of energy, and this lets your body rest for almost 24 hours.  I've been doing it on and off for several months (even before becoming ill), but now I have decided to stick with it long-term, because I feel better when I eat less.  Your body adjusts quickly, and I have maintained my weight.  To me it seemed kinda' like an absurd idea to eat once per day, but it turns out that I like it better.  (It saves time too!)

Perhaps with time I will recover.  But in the grand scheme of things it doesn't really matter when or if I recover.  Our God is merciful, so I simply need to do the best I can with what I've been given, even if I'm not accomplishing as much as when I was healthy.

I'm happy you rejoined.

Just like you, since my mom and I found this website we have learned a lot about Biblical doctrine.  I didn't even know we were suppose to study the Bible before that time.
And It' been a blessing to study His Word.

I know you told us on the previous forum, but could you tell me how to pronounce your name again? (I forgot.)

Best regards,
Joshua

Introduce Yourself / Re: Hi again from Michigan
« on: March 02, 2018, 02:25:17 PM »
Ture!  There are so many.  The "Why I Use The King James Bible" article helped a lot.  My mom and I immediately started using a King James Bible, and I think simply picking up a KJB helped us more then the teachings.  I believe the Lord lead us to the article; we were blessed to have been given the truth by God, and the He opened our eyes.  I believe it was having God's infallible Word, and Him giving the understanding, that showed us the fault in the SDAs we were studying from; without his preserved Word, we may have never been freed from that.

But I believe the "Is Repentance Part of Salvation?" is the most important article..  The Lord has blessed through that, and so much clarity has come from Him.

Perhaps not health wise, but I continue to feel better and better when it comes to faith and the Word of God; which is what truly matters.

I'm glade to have you back.

My mom and I also found the website when we came across the article on 501c3.  That was about 2 1/2 years ago, and the Lord has blessed our faith and understanding so much since then.
