I think I may have figured it out.

Now that I have listened to this video of Edwin Young preaching a few times I think I may have figured out his angle.
Each time I listened to it I have wondered why he's being so bold, harsh and, basically, telling people that don't tithe not to come back.
I believe it is because he is trying to purge his congregation. He probably recognizes that there are lots of people that are just there for the entertainment and free coffee and aren't giving him any money. So this is probably an attempt to empty out some of the "deadbeats" to make room for new suckers can come in and potentially give him their money.
In order for a guy like Edwin young to get as wealthy as he is he must constantly be scheming, strategizing and manipulating.

Just my thoughts.

Chris, if you ever see fit to finish that "Father Abraham" song you are more than welcome to. I hadn't heard it before. I was rather enjoying that.
