Wild Emails @ CLE / Re: Churchgoer Clings to Her Idols
« on: July 18, 2018, 04:14:37 PM »
Sadly people often don't change until they are forced to.  They don't grasp the concept that the time to repair the roof is when the sun is shining.

When things are going well and there is food on the table and a warm dry bed to sleep in then that is especially the time to study God's word and to be obedient and get as close to Him as possible.

That woman hasn't understood that a person can either learn of other's mistakes from the Word of God and know to avoid them or make lots of your own mistakes and learn the hard way.

Disaster will always be just one step around the corner.

Women are not to teach IN THE CHURCH

The teaching that God does expect the older women to fulfil.  You won't see this happening in the church buildings though.

Titus 2 Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)
1 But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine: 2 that the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience. 3 The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; 4 that they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, 5 to be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.

This teaching is obviously meant to occur as the women interact with eachother in day to day life and is not the time of the usual teaching in the church congregation as Biblical teaching is imparted to both men, women and children.

If there's one thing that the church buildings in America have accomplished, it is that their indoctrination has immunised most of the population against being able to even hear the truth of God's word. Hearing, they hear not, neither do they understand.

Isaiah 8 Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)
14 And he shall be for a sanctuary; but for a stone of stumbling and for a rock of offence to both the houses of Israel, for a gin and for a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem. 15 And many among them shall stumble, and fall, and be broken, and be snared, and be taken.

What he is really saying is;

"If you do not give this church building your money, God is going to curse you!"
(The wrath of God/enmity of God/or cursing of God being the opposite of His blessing)

You guys think I'm in my right mind with this?

Yes, I think you are quite right.  When I was involved with those in the church buildings they didn't hesitate to utter curses.  They are people who seem to think they are given licence to do and to say whatever they please.

Thanks for that Jeanne

Yes, I had forgotten the exact wording, thanks for correcting me.  My thinking had also become sidetracked over the last few days too.  On Thurday night the guy I mentioned about talking to at the pool wasn't the only one.  There was a ridiculous pentecostal guy with whom I was trying to talk some sense with and as you can imagine he was going on and on about prophesy in their "church" etc and was just another one against the KJV and claimed this that and everything else about how the spirit can talk to him through his NIV etc etc.  The guy was such a prat that in the end I had to quite forcibably tell him not to talk to me anymore.  When he continued I told him again, stop talking to me.  When he got out of the spa pool he turned to me in front of everyone else and commented that my heart is full of hate and that I have hate for him etc.  Wow, such a gracious person.

Hence for the next days I was musing over the differences between prophesy and teaching.  That guy has neither.

Hi Ruth

That is an interesting topic you have brought up and is something I have even been thinking and musing over quite a lot over the last week.  Although I have been a Christian for 32 years I have to admit that I still haven't got this one fully sorted out in my mind.  I was thinking on one of Chris' teachings where he has taught that prophesying is teaching and this is in absolutely no opposition to that teaching but I am still puzzled with regards to that because of the following piece of scripture.

Ephesians 4 Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)
8 Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men. 9 (Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth? 10 He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.) 11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; 12 for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: 13 till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: 14 that we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; 15 but speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: 16 from whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.

Good that I can run this by others too as I tend to see it that those who get alongside others and pastor them also need to be able to teach them but this is in addition to the elders who are involved with the teaching for the whole church.  Hence the person doing the pastoral work and the teaching should have the material they are teaching open and transparent to the elders to be sure that it is correct.

Thanks again Ruth for bringing up this topic and I certainly look forward to insight that others can bring.

That was excellent and quite timely.  I just passed that link on to a friend of mine from the pool.  As I continually tell him, real church is not at all like the nonsense that goes on in the church buildings.

but what Chris wrote concerning the Ezra posting is the most relevant in this situation:

but there's no need to get a wicked man's heart side-tracked with the truth of the Word until God humbles his heart to listen.

Hi Susan

Thanks for querying that.

Except in this case this is something that people are told that it is acceptable to do and of course God will not lead people into sin.

When the time comes this person will be clearly identified by some means of their name being associated with the number six hundred threescore and six.

Now that we have all that out of the way, we can let go of the whole thing.  :D

We can almost let it go, except for one tiny part where the gematria will quite likely come up again in the future.

Revelation 13 Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)
16 And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: 17 and that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. 18 Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.

Now that we have all that out of the way, we can let go of the whole thing.  :D

Hi Anthony

Welcome to the forum from me.  I'm the Kevin that Jeanne mentioned.  Good to read that you have left the denominations behind.  I won't go in to the details but what goes on in the church buildings is purely destructive.  Very pleasing to read that you are protecting your family from their influence.

Anyway, welcome to a good church that operates as a church is supposed to.

I'm certainly in agreement with you.  I never took it anywhere that you defended the title of "pastor".

Quote
But is someone a false convert simply because he is the 'Pastor' of a local congregation? If so then please explain to me, how you know for sure.

I wouldn't go so far as to say they are a false convert, but it should be something they deal with and certainly the elders should stamp on people using the title of "pastor".  Usually it is those who are considered or appointed to be the "elder" that take on the title for themselves of "pastor".  But Biblically the role of pastoring is for anyone in the congregation who feels drawn to encourage and bring to fuller maturity others in the congregation who need that extra assistance.

Hence

Ephesians 4 Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)
10 He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.) 11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; 12 for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
...

But all of the above should be done under the watchful eyes of the elders to make sure that correct doctrines are being imparted.

1 Peter 4 Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)
7 But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer. 8 And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins. 9 Use hospitality one to another without grudging. 10 As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. 11 If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

In the congregation people are supposed to be ministers one to another.

Quote
And please also consider my Former Point that the Key to salvation ist Not to listen to the perfect teaching or preaching but to come and seek God with a repent heart i.e. grief and godly sorrow over your wrong doing, and with the genuine willingness to really find the truth and to Test and questions it until you have absolute certainty.

Yes, none of us know the whole picture and are still learning and that includes the elders.  That's the difference here in CLE, the elders admit quite rightly that they are still learning too and are approachable and are prepared to enter in to doctrinal discussions etc.  Here at CLE the elders will quite rightly comment that "I think you are wrong    .....   and here is the reason why ...  ". And they give a sound reason.  I have never seen that happen in the church buildings and I have realised over the last couple of years that here at CLE is the first time I have ever been around true Christians in the last 32 years.

Quite righly if disputes with the elders can not be resolved then it is time to leave that congregation.  Either the elders are wrong and not worthy to be considered elders or the individual is wrong and is quite rightly ejected from the congregation because of the damage they can cause.

We can easily take it for granted today that we have access to the Bible.  I have often pondered how I would have got on if I was living in, lets say the 8th century.

The discussion highlights the importance of being able to come together and discuss Biblical doctrines etc.  Even Paul's letters were written to the church at this place and that place and were not written to a heavy handed, overbearing and dishonest "pastor" who would dictate to and manipulate a church gathering.

Hence full participation of all of those involved and each reading the letters for themselves or at least read to the gathering by someone who has proven themselves to be trustworthy (i.e. an elder who is worthy of having such a position bestowed upon them).

After all we are not being saved because we know wether we get raptured before the seven years or in the midst of them or at the end.

Hi Hakim

:)  What seven years would that be?  The scriptures only mention 3 1/2 years (or rather 42 months or 1260 days)

Revelation 11 Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)
2 But the court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles: and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty and two months. 3 And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth.

Revelation 13 Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)
4 And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him?

5 And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months.

For anyone asking questions and who really want to know then I still think the gospel according to John is the best place for them to start and then the rest of the gospels and Acts.  If they aren't interested in reading those and absorbing them then they are likely only to become a "church goer" and will treat church as a social club or some kind of community centre where they can just catch up with their friends they have made but sound scripture and teaching won't be a part of it.

If they truly want to teach self defence then they should only ever refer to it as 'self defence' and never using the Roman mythology term 'martial arts'.  Although I have never been involved in self defence apart from the usual stuff one learns as a soldier, I would happily take part in such a course so long as it was only ever referred to as self defence and I would use every mentioning of the word 'martial' to give people a small lecture about the evils of Romanism.

Mars (mythology)

Not to be confused with the planet Mars.

In ancient Roman religion and myth, Mars (Latin: Mārs, [maːrs]) was the god of war and also an agricultural guardian, a combination characteristic of early Rome.[2] He was second in importance only to Jupiter and he was the most prominent of the military gods in the religion of the Roman army. ...

... Latin adjectives from the name of Mars are martius and martialis, from which derive English "martial" (as in "martial arts" or "martial law") and personal names such as "Martin". ...

General Discussion / Re: FLAT EARTH EVIDENCE
« on: June 28, 2018, 04:28:45 PM »
When you look in the night sky you notice the stars moving across the sky as the Earth rotates.  Depending on whether you are in the northern hemisphere of the southern hemisphere determines in which direction the stars appear to move.  The flat Earth model can not take this phenomenon in to account along with many other proofs.

The flat Earth hoax has just died another death.

http://www.astronomytrek.com/what-direction-do-stars-move-in-the-sky/

What Direction Do Stars Move In The Sky?

Therefore, if you look up at Polaris you will see the stars rotating in the opposite direction from right to left (counter-clockwise) once every 24 hours. In the same way, if you were to face due South the stars would naturally appear to rotate from left to right in a clockwise direction.

In other words, while the Sun, Moon and stars travel from East to West the direction we see them moving depends entirely on which direction we are facing at the time:

Facing North: Stars rotate counter-clockwise (right to left)
Facing South: Stars rotate clockwise (left to right)
Facing East: Stars rise in front, and set behind
Facing West: Stars rise behind, and set in front
