General Discussion / Re: The fruit of the Spirit
« on: March 04, 2023, 08:40:57 PM »
Anna, I may not have been able to discuss anything with you but you have not given any examples of what you are claiming and of who was doing any of these accusations. On a side note, who are the "others" that have noticed these evil actions alone with you? If there are any accusations, then they must be brought to the attention of the congregation. They should not accuse without giving any example of who or what was said and leave without properly explaining their accusations.

Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother. But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established. And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it unto the church: but if he neglect to hear the church, let him be unto thee as an heathen man and a publican. Matthew 18:15-17

Bible Discussion / Re: Confusion about NASV Co-founder claims

Never mind, I now remember we had this conversation a few years ago. Please forgive me for forgetting that as it has been a few years since we had this discussion. I am sorry for wasting everyone's time. I pray that you all have a good week ahead of you.

This was The Lockman Foundations official response:
Quote
The Board of Directors of The Lockman Foundation launched the NEW AMERICAN STANDARD BIBLE translation work in the late 1950’s following the completion of the AMPLIFIED NEW TESTAMENT. Dr. S. Franklin Logsdon was acquainted with Dewey Lockman, president of The Lockman Foundation, prior to Mr. Lockman’s death in 1974. Mr. Logsdon was never a member of the Board of Directors, nor was he an employee of The Lockman Foundation. Mr. Logsdon had no authority to hire employees or translators for the Foundation, to set policy, to vote, to hold office, to incur expenses, etc. He cannot be considered “co-founder” of the NASB, nor part of The Lockman Foundation, nor part of the NASB translation team, nor did he write the forward of the NASB. According to our records, he was present at board meetings on two occasions — once to hear a travel report; and once to deliver an “inspirational thought.”

Mr. Logsdon last wrote to Mr. Lockman in fall of 1973 that he was moving to Florida. Mr. Lockman replied that he was surprised and saddened by his decision to leave the area. Mr. Lockman passed away in January of 1974, and no further correspondence was exchanged between Frank Logsdon and The Lockman Foundation. He resided in Florida until his passing some years ago.

The grass withers, the flower fades; but the word of our God stands forever. Isaiah 40:8 (NASB)

Bible Discussion / Confusion about NASV Co-founder claims
« on: January 18, 2023, 05:39:00 PM »

Chris, I talked with someone about the Nasv being renounced a few years but when he looked up the claim. He found a website that said that such a thing was a myth, I was unsure to respond and it left me confused. Was Dr. Franklin Logsdon actually the co-founder? I am asking because The Lockman Foundation that created the NASV publically said this was actually not the case. I hope this Logsdon was not lying to others.
A lying tongue hateth those are afflicted by it; and a flattering mouth worketh run. Proverbs 26:28

Wild Emails @ CLE / Re: An Example of a Letter I Won't Answer

This is an example of what I call "coming into a conversation midway" because that's what it sounds like.

The fact that 4 Great Rivers flowed out of Eden is its self [sic] a marvel.
Although there's zero evidence or existing proof of Eden, I'm confident Eden was a vast Garden, I'm talking larger than say France or Germany.
In that Garden lived all Creation so it must have been huge.
It is with interest you mention that belief in your post is not a salvation matter.
I 100% agree. As millions of people have lived and died without even knowing the Lord Jesus, there clearly is a plan for all those people.

There is no coherence or structure to any of it, which means you can't tell what the writer means behind any of it. This causes confusion, which is something I have been guilty of in the past, but from what I can tell, the writer did not care about what they were writing about that much to make any corrections.

Chris, thank you for rewriting this. It is more powerful than before and like Rowan this was sobering. I thank the Lord for helping me find you and your works.

This is one of your most important articles, along with "Is Repentance part of Salvation?", "501c3: The Devils Church", and the other "The Biblical Understanding of ..." series. Especially to a novice like me, I haven't posted a lot recently because I was ashamed to talk to all of you. I have been rereading your articles, and I want to thank you for writing them. I have tried to give/ show them to people who could listen like my family. I still remember reading this when it first came out, I was crying because of how convicted I was. I have recently tried to read the Bible more thoroughly. I want to thank all of you for being honest with me.

Bible Discussion / How Churchgoers see repentance in a nutshell
« on: May 25, 2021, 10:04:49 AM »
I found this article recently on the CMI website and it sums up how the churchgoers fumble with the idea of repentance. Case in point, they claim that repentance means to turn, they don't say that directly but they imply it to be that way. The comments are filled with contradictory beliefs like playing the greek game or just using it to mean to turn.

“For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.” 2 Corinthian 7:10

What part of this is so hard to understand?
Repentance is needed to bring salvation and it is given by God through sorrow. Grief and Godly sorrow is repentance to be precise but every one of the churchgoers doesn't or can't understand this.

I just found this article and it basically says it is better to believe them over anything else. Here is the article:

Here some quotes from the article:

Chris, I have some bad news. I just found out that Parler was taken offline by Google, Amazon, and Apple because it was used mainly by "Trump Supporters" (anyone that supports free speech).

General Discussion / The worst "Christian song" ever made.
« on: October 10, 2020, 10:03:23 PM »
Reading Chris' article about so called christian music reminded of a song that came out a few years ago. I heard it once and even though I may not be as good with discernment as many of you but the first time I ever heard It was obvious that this was completely demonic. It called the Break Up song and here are the lyrics
Quote
Sick and tired of being sick and tired
Had as much of you as I can take
I'm so done, so over being afraid
I've gone through the motions
I've been back and forth
I know that you're thinking you've heard this before
I don't know how to say it
So I'm just gonna say it, yeah
Fear, you don't own me
There ain't no room in this story
And I ain't got time for you
Telling me what I'm not
Like you know me well guess what?
I know who I am
I know I'm strong
And I am free
Got my own identity
So fear, you will never be welcome here
Take a minute, let it settle in
You probably never saw it coming
Something's gotta give so I give up you, oh
There's no room for you here
Yeah, I've had enough
The "No Vacancy" sign on my heart is lit up
In case you didn't hear it
Here it is again,
Oh, fear, you don't own me
There ain't no room in this story
And I ain't got time for you
Telling me what I'm not
Like you know me well guess what?
I know who I am
I know I'm strong
And I am free
Got my own identity
So fear, you will never be welcome here
Is there anybody out there just like me?
Anybody needing fear to leave?
If you don't know how to say it
Sing along with me
Sing fear, you don't own me
There ain't no room in this story
And I ain't got time for you
Telling me what I'm not
Like you know me well guess what?
I know who I am
I know I'm strong, brave
And I am free
Got my own identity
So fear, you will never be welcome here
Whoa, goodbye, goodbye fear
Whoa, you will never be welcome here

I want to see what you guys think but for me the worst part is the
Quote
I know who I am
I know I'm strong, brave
And I am free
Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:

I like the logo and I enjoy how the changes make it easier to see things on the website. It does look much better than what I could come up with.
