The Biblical Understanding of Love
The word 'love' is often used by people who do not understand its full meaning.

I've been saying for years that I need to do a full teaching on this subject, and I finally got it done. This should conclusively prove that, in most church buildings today, the doctrine of love is not well understood, and is being purposefully corrupted.

Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.
-James 4:4

I just have a hard time making friends with the enemies of God. God is SO kind and charitable to them, even though they hate Him in deeds. Therefore, can we not do the same?

243
I haven't shared this with our church yet, but let me give this example:

Billy Graham, many decades ago, gave what I consider to be one of the most powerful presentations on the proper doctrine of repentance that I have ever heard. And yet, I do believe that he is in hell today.

Why?

Because a man can repeat a correct doctrine that he has heard, and not understand it. A man can say one thing, and do another, and that is often the reason why we see so many contradictions in the doctrines of those men. I'm not talking about errors, but flat-out contradictions in their doctrines at different times.

All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do; but do not ye after their works: for they say, and do not.
-Mat 23:3

This is a concept that most churchgoers have a hard time understanding. How can a man preach grace through faith, and not have grace through faith? How can a man preach godly sorrow for sin, but not have godly sorrow for sin? When this is all over, and judgement day comes, we're going to see millions of examples of it.

What then? notwithstanding, every way, whether in pretence, or in truth, Christ is preached; and I therein do rejoice, yea, and will rejoice.
-Phil 1:18

My question to the group is: Has keeping and finding friends been a particular struggle for you especially in the past few years of this covid deception, and what are you doing about it?
Well, if you think its bad now, just wait until we get closer to the end. In the parable, half of the church fell away.

Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom. And five of them were wise, and five were foolish. They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them: But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept. And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him. Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps. And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out. But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves. And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.
-Mat 25:1-10

We're going to find out that, in the end, there are more false converts among us than we thought. Covid didn't do anything but reveal the cowardice, laziness, and willful ignorance of those around us. This is why they get sensitive when you bring up those topics, especially nowadays. They know what they did was stupid. They know it was useless. They know people are still dying from this stupidity and vanity, and they don't want to admit they were taken in by it, because by admitting it, they are (philosophically) admitting their own cowardice, laziness, and willful ignorance.

Thus, if people cannot admit those very basic things, how can they come to repentance of them? If they are not repentant of their sin, how does God forgive them for it?

I don't assume that someone is not of Christ until I start to see them reject Scripture for the sake of their own personal opinions and feelings, but when evidence like I just mentioned starts stacking up, it makes it very difficult for me to consider someone brethren because the brethren I know do what's right over what's convenient because we serve the Almighty God.

Those that serve to alleviate their uncomfortability in standing up for what is right in social situations by simply "going with the flow" cannot be my friends because I cannot respect or trust them after that. (Unless they come to repentance of it.) Outside of those in the church, I haven't had any friends in over a decade because they don't like what I have to say, and I don't like what they do.

How can you have a friend that speaks consistently in a way that contradicts the philosophy of Christ? I am ready and willing to be charitable and kind to my neighbors, but they are not my friends.

Understandable, but for me, I have to do it. The reason is because, since I was little, I have ALWAYS been wrong. Not that I am wrong in everything I say, but I am treated to always be wrong, no matter what I say or do, and even when I turn out to be right over and over again, I am still treated as if I am always wrong.

Therefore, I have to back up EVERYTHING I say. However, in the process of doing this, I have committed more Scripture to recall than I've ever had before, and I'm still learning more. Thus, it has become a practice of mine, not just for the sake of my opposition, but for my learning process, to make sure I am armed and prepared with Scripture at all times, no matter the circumstance.

(Also, I've listened to a lot of leavened preachers in the past, so to make sure I'm not quoting something incorrect or out of context from something I previously learned, I have to continually double check myself.)

I think I understand what you mean, and I agree on all counts. :)

Believe it or not, I haven't liked social media either. It's just not a good place for thorough discussion, which is the reason I originally created this forum. But right now, it's difficult for me to get a lot of my research, writing, and videos out in the public eye without it.

I try not to jump to any conclusions because some people need time to think about things, and if someone immediately converted to my understanding just by my saying it, I wouldn't trust them because they make rash decisions. However, when they exhibit no desire to study to understand, then I know there is laziness and idolatry going on, and it shows me they have little love for the Lord Jesus Christ, though they give him lip service to deceive themselves and others.

The heart of the righteous studieth to answer: but the mouth of the wicked poureth out evil things.

There is No Saving Grace Without Repentance

This is the article "Is Repentance Part of Salvation?" -- which has been completely rewritten into a longer, more detailed, full length book. I will be working on it at a later date to get it to a publisher as well.

In addition, I think I should mention that I understand your love for her, but that should not surpass the love you have for Jesus Christ. Again, this doesn't mention girlfriends but the concept still applies here:

He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.
And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me. - Matthew 10:37-38

It's not about whether or not "girlfriend" is mentioned in that verse to make it apply. The verse is FAR more intense than John's situation. It would be FAR more grievous to be separated from your parents, and even MORE grievous to be separated from your child. This connection between you and a girlfriend is a far lesser relationship than those. Christ put emphasis on the closest relationships in this world, and saying that your relationship with Him must be FAR greater of importance.

This is just me, but I have had a few girlfriends in my life, and though some people might be offended by this, I have no problem saying that I still care very much about all of them, despite the fact that they, for the most part, hate me. However, true love is a SELFLESS sacrifice for someone else. That means you do what is best for them, even if they hate you for it, or it makes them sad initially.

Just look at what you wrote:
I am still dating my girlfriend. We have been together for 3+ years and I do love her, it’s not only lust. She knows my beliefs and I firmly tell her. We have a trip to Greece on July 23rd we have planned for a year and a half in advance and I plan on going, but I definitely have my concerns.

I, I, I, me, me, me, my, my, my... you still don't understand. Right now, it's all about you. I don't see anything in your writing where you are really thinking about her, and what's best for her. From someone who, according to what you have told us, has repentance and faith in Christ, to see and do what is best for her soul is love. Right now, I don't see you speaking about what's best for her, and that's concerning.

Maybe in the future, you will be together. Who knows? Because I have made that statement with that possibility about a number of women, and none of it turned out the way I thought it would. What you need and what she needs is not necessary what you both want in this moment.

Until you make a decision to the right thing first and foremost, nothing will change. As Ellie pointed out, those promises from God come with conditions. I have experienced that many times in my life, so I know what it takes for me to fulfill my end of the contract, and I have witnessed God fulfill His end of the contract.

You will NOT see Him change anything for the better until you take faithful steps. Guaranteed.

Most everyone else here has gone through the same process.

Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man's sake.
-Luke 6:22

This is why I find it to be such hypocrisy that, in many church buildings, they sing about "counting the cost" and "following Jesus," but most of them have every really paid any price. They just go from secular things, to "Christianized" secular things, and they think they have made a huge change, using the church building and their customs as a symbol of "holiness."

It's not that I expect all Christians to depart from all these things before we can have fellowship, but how much time does it take before their philosophy (i.e. way of thinking) changes enough that they look on these movies, holidays, and music, and start to get sick to their stomachs. When Jesus Christ gave me understanding, over the course of years, things that would move me to tears or make me laugh, now makes me disgusted, so why is it, for people who are alleged veterans who have supposedly been saved many more years than I have, they cannot see these things?

I believe it comes down to repentance, and that they've never been given that, nor do they want it. Therefore, a foundation of true faith in Christ was never laid in their hearts. If you have someone who has been saved for many years, and there is so little humility that you can't even have a rational conversation with them about these subjects, there is a serious problem.

Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;

Okay, thanks for your feedback on that. Feel free to ask any questions you want.

I suppose what I was curious about when reading your testimony and your posts is when exactly you were born again in Jesus Christ. The reason I was confused is because, based on the timeline of events that you gave us, something seems off to me, but I'm not sure I can put my finger on what it is, so maybe you can help me understand this a little better.

I think some other members here were also confused at the terminology you were using, and I appreciate you explaining it more, but the question remains where you learned this terminology from. Perhaps it comes from the Hebrew cults or the SDA cults; I don't know. I've just never heard that terminology before, and it doesn't come from Scripture, so the problem is that when you use terms about Spiritual matters that we cannot determine from our Spiritual source (which is God, in His Word), then it puts us on guard until we can determine what those phrases mean.

Quote
My first real interaction with the Bible was when I encounter the Hebrew Isrealites on youtube. I had never seen people use the Bible in that way. Everything they said they backed up with scripture, at least i thought so at the time. I was amazed and captivated. I did follow them for a few months. They had everything going except love for the Gentile. They despised the Gentile. I did not agree so I moved on and started following other youtube channels. During my mid to late 20's I had an interest in diet and nutrition. I saw that the 7th Day Adventist focus heavenly on diet and nutrition. They had a special guest well rounded in nutrition and invited the community to join them. I attended the meeting and it went well. The following weeks I attended their bible study session and attended one of their worship services. Due to a conflict between the bible teacher and the pastor I stopped attending. I tried looking for a local church for some months but no success, than it crossed me. I have spent so much time looking for a physical church, when that could be spend reading my bible and building an intimate relationship with the Lord. In that time my relationship with the Lord grew and is still growing till this day. I am no seeking like minded individual to commune with.

So here is what I am seeing so far, and I am sharing this so you know how this appears to us. You said you were looking up information on 501c3, found the CLE website, and joined this forum, and a contributing factor to your motivation in your search was because you wanted strong Scriptural teaching. You then went into your history, talking about your first interaction with the Bible, and that was for "Hebrew Israelites" on YouTube, which, if I understand this correctly, are those who do NOT believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, unless you are talking about the "Hebrew Roots" cult, and that would be those who teach works-based heresies that are against the doctrine of Christ. (I can't tell which it is because you did not give me enough information.)

I agree with you that Hebrew-roots cults, and Messianic-Jewish people tend to have a greater understanding of Hebrew customs, which also gives them a more in-depth understanding of certain Scriptures. Then you said you stopped listening to them after a few months (and this was presumably in your early 20s) because they hated Gentiles.

Next, some months and/or years later, you joined SDAs for a few weeks. There was a squabble between two of the teachers in the church building you went to, and you didn't like that, so you left.

Then you said you studied the Bible on your own for... the next few years? I don't know, I can't really figure this out. You ended by saying you want "like minded individuals to commune with," and so I'm trying to figure out where we are like minded, and the main thing I'm looking for is when/how you were saved.

After this, you responded to Ellie, and said:
I don't recall the exact date when i was born again but I do believe Jesus of Nazareth is the Messiah & that he is the Son of God.
I think this is one of the reasons why Ellie was sending you the book that she recommended because there are millions upon millions of people who believe on Jesus, but are not born again in Him, and as you pointed out, that is why, in the book, I covered the verses on John 8. So to summarize your timeline, it looks like this:

You got introduced to the Bible, but you didn't like what was being taught in the end, so you left, and found someone else, but you didn't like what they were doing, so you left and... now you're saved? ??? When exactly did this conversion happen? No one here is saying you need to come up with a date and say it was March 7th at 4:16 PM -- we were just looking for something general, but I haven't seen it yet.

I understand that you professed your beliefs here:
Quote
By faith in Jesus the Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit  I have been able to repent and crucify the old self. I have been able to put off the old self and put on the new man as Paul states in the New Testament. I thank God the Father for imputing Christ's righteousness on me, amazing grace in deed.
But there was something still off because this was almost... how do I phrase this? I guess, cookie-cutter? It's like we're reading the inside of a Hallmark card. It's robotic in a way, almost as if this is not genuine, and just the words you think we want to hear from you. That's why I'm confused. I can see when we ask you basic questions, you begin to answer them very naturally, but then, when you move on to talking about Biblical and spiritual subjects, it's like switch flicks, and you start repeating phrases. This is where I don't feel like I'm talking with a real person, which is not to pay you any insult, but I'm speaking honestly about what I'm seeing.

When I asked you about your definition of repentance, you said you believed it was "turning back from my sinful ways," which is not how the Bible defines it, but it is how those various religious cults (the ones you were involved with) define it because they believe you need to repent to be saved, but the difference is that they believe you must "turn from sin" to be saved, which is works-based false doctrine, and not how the Bible defines repentance.

Then, you mentioned that you had offended God, which is what most churchgoers also believe, and this is why, I think, Rowan asked you if you had any grief of your own? Because that is the definition of repentance.

You then said "Yes, I do have grief of my own" -- but the problem is that it took us weeks to get you to talk about that, and when you did, it was a cookie-cutter, nonchalant response. This is something that should have happened the day you were born again in Jesus Christ, but so far, I'm not seeing any of that, it's like you are repeating the things that you think we want you to say, which is why I've been waiting to give an in-depth response to your posts because I've been waiting to see if I'm misinterpreting this. (I also think that is why not many others have responded to you either.)

You read the book, and I really appreciate your time on that, and you said it was "really good," but where is your repentance in your testimony? Where was the law and guilt and sin and the blood of Christ and the mercies he showed you... there really wasn't any of that. It was just that you repeated lines I think you have probably said to many other people because it's what you think they want to hear, and I think part of that is the corrupt influence you got from the Hebrew-roots and SDA cults.

I'm not saying you have to be any kind of skilled writer, but we have had people come through here that don't write very well, and were still able to express their testimony of repentance and faith, so something about what you're telling us is a bit strange. I know you're not going to like me saying this, but I am not going to sit here and lie to you and tell you that I see the evidence of repentance and faith in your words, when I don't.

The reason it's important that I tell you that is because you said you came here looking for people of like mind. If we don't first verify that we are all of like mind, then you would end up wasting your time, and I don't want you to have to waste your time because I'm sure you have a lot of important work to do, and your time is valuable.

I'll end this post for now and wait for your response.
