Yay! I was looking for it earlier and when it wasn't there, I tried to make the Scripture I quoted look like it did before.

Bible Discussion / Question on Leviticus 17

I've read through the book of Leviticus a number of times now and every time I run across this passage, it always raises the same question:
Leviticus 17:3 What man soever there be of the house of Israel, that killeth an ox, or lamb, or goat, in the camp, or that killeth it out of the camp, 4 and bringeth it not unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, to offer an offering unto the Lord before the tabernacle of the Lord; blood shall be imputed unto that man; he hath shed blood; and that man shall be cut off from among his people: 5 to the end that the children of Israel may bring their sacrifices, which they offer in the open field, even that they may bring them unto the Lord, unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, unto the priest, and offer them for peace offerings unto the Lord.
Does this mean the people couldn't even kill an animal to eat without making an offering out of it?
Leviticus 3 And if his oblation be a sacrifice of peace offering, if he offer it of the herd; whether it be a male or female, he shall offer it without blemish before the Lord. 2 And he shall lay his hand upon the head of his offering, and kill it at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation: and Aaron

Introduce Yourself / Greetings From Down Under

Hi All,
My name is Jeanne and I've been on all three versions of this forum now. I have been a member of the CLE church group for three years now. I love all the teaching here and thank God that He has been showing the truth of His Word to Chris and that He has allowed Chris to teach these things to us.
I sincerely pray that the technical problems we have had in the past with the forum are now resolved and that we won't lose more years' worth of teaching and discussion.
