What's New @ CLE / Re: (VIDEO) Wolves in Costume: Billy Graham p1

I tried checking into some of the Hebrew Roots stuff myself after I left the church building I was going to. I only met people online, though, and never found an actual congregation. I decided I didn't want anything to do with them once I found out that they got offended by me calling myself a Christian!

I have to wonder where some of these people get their logic from...

It actually makes perfect sense. I can see why you only wanted to post that one verse in the other translations but seeing whole context in the KJV just makes the corruption in the other ones stand out even more.

I'm really glad you're here and so eager to learn. Your humility is something very rarely seen around here. You haven't been here very long so you never saw the earlier incarnations of this forum and how many people we had to kick out because they kept insisting on trying to teach false doctrine.

While it's clear just from what you posted that these other corrupt 'translations' change the meaning of what the King James says, you really have to look at the surrounding verses to fully understand what is being said:

James 4:1From whence come wars and fightings among you? come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members? 2 Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not. 3 Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts. 4 Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God. 5 Do ye think that the scripture saith in vain, The spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth to envy? 6 But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble. 7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. 8 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. 9 Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness. 10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.

This verse is clearly talking about the lust of the flesh (human spirit) that still dwells in all of us and has nothing to do with the Spirit of God.

Thank you for pointing this out!

That is an interesting possibility. There's no way to know that for sure, of course, though.

I happened to see a video on YouTube just before this series started. The guy was pretty much just reading excerpts from a book entitled, 'How The Illuminati Create An Undetectable Total Mind Controlled Slave' by Fritz Springmeier. I have no idea how credible this guy is but I do know that some of the methods of mind control that he cites are corroborated in other stories I've read by former law enforcement and FBI agents.

He has pretty much a whole chapter devoted to the deceptions of Billy Graham and alleges that Graham was programming people to accept the New World Order. Again, I don't know how credible any of this is because while he claims to have the testimony of witnesses, these witnesses cannot be named because it would put their lives in danger.

Anyway, if anyone is interested in reading any of what he says, you can use the 'Look Inside' feature on Amazon by clicking on the image of the book and type Billy Graham into the search bar.

A couple of the abbreviations used are:
MPD = Multiple Personality Disorder
SRA = Satanic Ritual Abuse

General Discussion / HEALTH: Tetanus Vaccine
« on: March 29, 2018, 05:38:09 PM »
I subscribe to a newsletter from GreenMedInfo.com and today I got an email referencing an extensive article on tetanus, the history of the vaccine (as well as its effectiveness or lack thereof) and alternate methods of healing or prevention. It's quite long, but well worth the read, especially if you have concerns about the disease.

It's already illegal to preach against homosexuality or to call it 'sin' in Canada and has been for quite some time. My question to them would be, which is more hateful? To warn someone of the dangers of going to hell or to keep silent and let them find out the hard way?

Severius, please don't be reluctant to post what you've learnt or to ask questions. That's how we ALL learn. Sometimes the questions people ask on here are things I've never even thought of before.

Wow, the sheer arrogance of this guy never ceases to astound me. I wonder if he had to enlarge all the doors of his 'church' just to fit his head through...

Yep, and my mum still goes to that church, though it's moved to Northville now. It's at 6 Mile and Haggerty (behind the shopping centre) instead of where it used to be at Farmington and 6 Mile. There's now a Walgreen's and an apartment complex on that corner.

My brother and his wife go to Northridge in Plymouth and as far as I'm concerned, that church is even worse about being worldly. I never heard such watered-down, 'nothing' preaching. Of course, they call it being 'seeker sensitive'... They make a HUGE deal out of their Christmas and Easter productions (which they sell tickets to) and if you miss it, you can always buy the DVD. Well, the Christmas one, anyway. Don't know that they sell tickets for Easter.

It's a bit easier to understand when we look at the whole paragraph:

Isaiah 29:17 Is it not yet a very little while,
and Lebanon shall be turned into a fruitful field,
and the fruitful field shall be esteemed as a forest?
18 And in that day shall the deaf hear the words of the book,
and the eyes of the blind shall see out of obscurity,
and out of darkness.
19 The meek also shall increase their joy in the Lord,
and the poor among men shall rejoice in the Holy One of Israel.
20 For the terrible one is brought to nought,
and the scorner is consumed,
and all that watch for iniquity are cut off:
21 that make a man an offender for a word,
and lay a snare for him that reproveth in the gate,
and turn aside the just for a thing of nought.

In that context, it would seem that what you said is correct. It makes sense to me but I could be wrong, too.

I realise I did not give much of a testimony in my first post and it has taken me quite some time to figure out what I should really say.

I grew up in a Presbyterian church building that grew from 600 members to over 4000 while I was there. At first, it was a United Presbyterian church but then the denomination started instituting some new policies that our congregation strongly opposed, such as ordaining homosexuals and declaring church property as belonging to the denomination rather than the particular congregation. I was involved in the congregational meeting where the issue was to either remain or break away from the United Presbyterian denomination. The decision to break away was nearly unanimous as I recall only four votes against it. So this church along with a few other founded a new denomination called the Evangelical Presbyterian Church.

When I was a child, this church always used the King James Bible. However, sometime around either my junior high or high school years, they switched to the NIV. I never really liked it and I always found myself 'translating' verses I had memorised as a child into the King James. Of course, we grew up celebrating all the pagan holidays such as Christmas, Easter and even Halloween (which also happens to be my mother's birthday).

Even though I was always active in the youth activities at church and went to 'Christian' camps every summer, I started rebelling around the age of 16 or so and got heavily involved in drinking, drugs and fornication. This went on for many years and even though I still considered myself nominally a 'Christian', I did not attend church or get involved with other Christians.

When I was stationed in Virginia with the Air Force, I started attending a Baptist church that was just getting started in the area, and this was my first encounter with modern 'worship music'. I loved it and thought it was just the greatest thing. I still didn't let go of my sinful lifestyle, however.

For many years I was involved in different churches of many different denominations off and on, including some of the charismatic ones. These churches used just about every Bible version available EXCEPT the King James. (For many years, I used the NLT.) I was even in the choir at a Billy Graham crusade once. I can't count the number of times I 'went forward' at an altar call but still nothing changed. This is why I can't really pinpoint the exact time I actually got saved.

Later on I became fascinated with 'creation science' as I never could reconcile what I had been taught about evolution with what I knew from the Bible. I became heavily involved in such ministries as Answers in Genesis and Institute for Creation Research (ICR) and bought all the books and DVDs I could get my hands on. My life was still pretty much the same, however.

I knew that how I was living was wrong but my fleshly desires took precedence over what I knew to be right. I joined another Bible forum many years ago and one of the other members there mentioned the CLE ministry, which is how I found Chris's articles. As soon as I started reading I couldn't get enough. Almost everything I had been taught all my life was a lie!

I'm still not where I know I should be in my walk with Christ and I still lay awake nights sometimes thinking about all the ways I've messed up. But I do thank God that I've found some honest Bible believing and God fearing people to fellowship with and that I've also found a place where the Bible is being taught honestly with no frills or sugar coating the way it should be.

Praise be to God that He has raised up a teacher such as Chris Johnson who is willing to do what is right over what is convenient and to teach the truth of the Word. I pray the Holy Spirit will continue to teach him and give him discernment to reveal the truth.

I have to admit that I feel like such a hypocrite sometimes coming here and presuming to be able to speak intelligently about what the Bible says when my own life is still such a mess. I see so many others who seem to be so much more committed to doing what's right than I am.

I thank you all for accepting me and loving me as I am and for caring enough to give me rebuke when needed.

Wow! That reminds me of when the followers of Baal were dancing around and shouting trying to get their god's attention and all Elijah had to do was softly speak to God and ask him for what he wanted and God answered straight away. Kind of tells you something about the god these Pentecostals are worshipping, doesn't it?

I wouldn't even know how to begin going about trying to make these teachings 'more understandable' to Romanians. If they can read and understand English, it shouldn't be a problem and if they don't, then why would they expect someone who doesn't speak Romanian to try to translate for them? It makes NO sense.

I know CBD oil helps bone growth/strength, especially after a break or surgery, and is an effective anti-inflammatory and helps with arthritis. It should be able to help with healing in your case, too.

My left shoulder goes out on me a lot, too, but I've never bothered with surgery as I've known others who had it and said it didn't help. Hope it works out for you, though.

General Discussion / Re: What is a Pharmaceutical?
« on: March 18, 2018, 08:59:19 PM »
I would argue that same thing for hemp/marijuana. THC is only one of the many cannabinoids found in the cannabis plant and it is the only psychoactive compound in the plant. Even then, it has to be burnt (smoked) in order for it to be psychoactive. If you were to eat raw cannabis buds, it would not get you high.

That being said, there are a lot of health benefits in using CBD oil and a full-spectrum oil (containing a variety of cannabinoids and terpenes) is more effective than a CBD isolate because of what scientists term an 'entourage effect'.

Hemp seeds are also considered a super food, high in Omega fatty acids. Hemp seed oil is not the same as CBD oil, however, as the seeds do not contain the cannabinoids.

I'm currently about halfway through the article. I only watched a couple of the videos because I really can't stand listening to this guy. I feel for you, Chris, having to listen to this garbage in order to get the article written and I can definitely see why the Wolves in Costume series is so hard on you.

I also appreciate you transcribing what is said on the videos so the rest of us can be spared. I've seen some clips of him before and there's no way I would be able to sit through an entire sermon by him without wanting to throw something.

Josh, you mentioned anaesthesia or anaesthetics, too. I don't know about you, but there's no way I would want to have surgery or something like that WITHOUT anaesthetic and I doubt you'd be able to find a doctor willing to perform such a procedure without it. I am seriously allergic to pain. Just sayin'...

You raise some very good questions, Josh, questions that I have never really thought about to the extent you have. I'll be interested in seeing what kind of answers you get because I really have no clue.

The only thing I could say with any degree of certainty is regarding Laetrile. Getting Laetrile (B17 vitamin) by eating apricot seeds is not a pharmaceutical. I'm not sure whether any other dietary supplements containing vitamins and other vital nutrients would qualify as pharmaceuticals or not. My gut says no, but I could very easily be wrong about that.
